Poplin Construction, a respected name among building contractors, was established in 1992 by Tommy and Linda Poplin after Tommy retired from the Army in 1989. In September 1995, the couple incorporated family members to form Poplin Construction, Inc. Tommy and Linda officially retired from the family business in December 2021, passing the torch to their children, James, Jacquie, and Rusty. Under this second-generation leadership, Poplin Construction, Inc. continues to thrive in the construction industry. In 2022, James and Jacquie’s son Tim joined the family business, marking the emergence of a third generation in ownership. As a distinguished family-owned business in Ocean Shores, Poplin Construction, Inc. boasts a rich history and over three decades of experience in home renovations, alongside a reputation for exceptional quality synonymous with the Poplin family name. Each member of the Poplin family contributes valuable knowledge and experience to enhance their services as building contractors.
James Poplin, the eldest son of Tommy and Linda Poplin, serves as the President of the Corporation and lead carpenter. He studied carpentry at Grays Harbor Community College and has been in the construction field since 1990, acquiring extensive expertise in residential construction. Jacquie Poplin, James's wife, serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Corporation and office manager. With a background in business administration from Grays Harbor Community College, focused on accounting, she has been involved with the business since 1995. Rusty Poplin, the youngest son, is also a Vice President and lead carpenter who has been working with the business since 1999, gaining practical trade experience. Tim Poplin, the middle son of James and Jacquie Poplin, serves as a Vice President and a laborer, having joined the family business in 2022, eager to learn the trade through firsthand experience.
